Description
Agriculture began about 30,000 years ago, and wheat was one of the primary crops to be cultivated while transitioning from a nomadic lifestyle to more stable civilizations. Archeologists today observed from artifacts that in Neolithic times, women spent hours in a kneeled position using a stone mortar and pestle to break the wheat kernel, causing their toes, feet, and lower back to develop deformations.
Today, our Organic Unbleached White Flour is a popular staple in every household used for cooking and baking purposes. White flour is made from a process that removes the bran and the germ from wheat, known as milling. In this case, “unbleached” flour is left to age naturally instead of using additives to speed up the process, making it airy and light.
Our Unbleached White Flour is enriched and milled from organic hard red spring wheat kernels. It has a natural off-white colour and is recognized as premium quality wheat. This type of flour has a denser grain and thus has a good binding, perfect for all the baked goodies. Check out our recipe for Apple-Pecan Rugelach Recipe under the blog tab to learn how to use our Organic Unbleached White Flour at home!

Ingredients
Organic wheat flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid, ascorbic acid.
-
Directions
This is an unbleached all-purpose flour that can be used in multiple different recipes. Unless you are making a vanilla cake that needs to look very white in appearance, you can use our Organic Unbleached White Flour for all of your cooking and baking needs.
-
Uses
- Due to its higher gluten content (10-12%), it is perfect for baking cakes, muffins, pizza crusts, and anything you can imagine that has to be fluffy and soft.
- When choosing what flour to use to bake, remember this rule of thumb: more protein = more gluten = better binding. A flour that has good binding means that it will yield a chewy, voluminous product.
- Always make sure to follow what type of flour your recipe requires, in this case, unbleached white flour is very malleable.
- Fun recipes to try are Thyme & White Bean Pot Pie, Chocolate Macadamia Nut Pancakes, and Snickerdoodle Cookies -
