Description
Organic potato starch is produced by mashing, centrifuging, sieving and drying of organic potatoes. Potato starch has the highest viscosity of any starch product due to its unique granular structure. It has minimal odour and flavour, making it ideal for mildly flavoured recipes. Sauces thickened with potato starch become transparent when cooked or cooled.
-
Uses
Potato starch tolerates higher temperatures than corn starch and can replace it in most recipes. Potato starch can be used as a thickening agent or as a gluten-free alternative to flour in sauces and casseroles; use 1 teaspoon potato starch for each tablespoon of flour.
-
Storage
Store potato starch in a sealed container in a cool, dry area. Under these conditions, the shelf life of the product is estimated at 12 months
