Description
Extracted from the sunflower plant, sunflower seeds are teardrop-shaped, firm but tender, and perhaps the most versatile of all nuts and seeds. They are an excellent source of Vitamin E, which is the body’s primary fat-soluble antioxidant. If consumed with grains, legumes or dairy products, they provide high quality and complete protein that are essential to our bodies. Our Organic Raw Sunflower Seeds are hulled, but not sterilized or pasteurized.
One ounce of sunflower seeds provides about half of your daily requirement of Vitamin E. It also has other immune-boosting nutrients like Vitamin B6 and selenium.
-
Uses
Sunflower seeds are mild in flavour and have a tasty crunch, which make them perfect as a garnish on salads, in scrambled eggs, cereals and as a topping on baked goods like bread.
-
Storage
Store in a tightly sealed container in a cool, dry place where they will keep for several months.
