Flax seeds, also known as linseeds. are an excellent source of soluble dietary fibre, complete protein, and omega-3 fatty acids. Golden flax meal adds a pleasant, nutty flavour and tender texture to baked products.
-
Uses
Organic flax meal can be added for extra nutrition to oatmeal, yogurt, salad, soup, meat loaf, muffins, bread, or any other food item where a nutty flavour is appropriate. -
Storage
Flax meal is rich in oil. Store it in airtight containers, at a cool temperature, away from excessive light and moisture. Storing it in the refrigerator or freezer can extend the shelf life to approximately 6 months.
