Westpoint’s Organic Brown Basmati Rice is grown in the state of California, United States. Immediately after harvesting, this rice is placed in cool storage bins. It is hulled to order with specially built rubber rollers that ensure the delicate bran layer and germ are unscratched, preserving for you this highly nutritious brown rice.

Directions
Rinse 1 cup rice and add 2 1/2 cups water. Bring to a boil, stir, cover, and simmer gently for 45 minutes. For softer grain, soak in water for 20 minutes.

Uses
Rice is a multifunctional grain: it can be steamed, boiled, or fried as a side dish, or used for stuffing, pudding, pilaf and risotto.

Storage
Any kind of brown rice is very susceptible to rancidity due to the presence of the bran. Product should be stored in cool, dry area with the temperature below 20 degrees Celsius. Optimum shelf life is 3 months. It is highly recommended to keep it refrigerated during the summer for extended shelf life.
