Description
Lemon Balm is said to be ruled by the planet Jupiter and Cancer, the Zodiac sign that is bound to water and associated with emotional health. Lemon Balm has long been known to help with emotional distress, be it stress, nervousness or heartache. In Ayurveda, it is also commonly used for digestive support.
Its use in the Middle Ages is noted by herbalists, writers, philosophers, and scientists, with Swiss physician and alchemist, Paracelsus, deeming it the “elixir of life”.
When it is being harvested, it is picked usually during the summer months in the morning. Our Lemon Balm is grown in the Balkan countryside. Our growers employ clean drying methods to preserve the contents of the herb. There are no artificial chemicals or additives used at any stage of the growing and manufacturing process. Lemon Balm is normally wildcrafted in the countryside. Using traditional methods, it is reconnecting with the world with herbs and honouring the traditional lifestyles that have long sustained the villages.
Fun fact: Lemon Balm is used to attract and feed bees for honey production.
