How to make the most delicious Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookies

with Organic Vegan Chocolate Chips

We are so excited to bring to you our new Organic Vegan Chocolate Chips. Due to the overwhelming response, we have received for more plant-based ingredients, it was time to bring in these delicious little chocolate chips. So what exactly are these chips made of?

These Vegan Chocolate Chips are made from Organic and fair trade Cane Sugar and Cocoa ingredients. We love getting to support more ethically and sustainably made products. Especially when they are delicious too.

How is fairtrade Cocoa grown?

Our Cocoa is coming from Organic and fair trade farms in Peru. Farming communities grow Cocoa trees in agroforestry, which integrates the growing of trees with crops or livestock. A major advantage of agroforestry is it helps limit soil erosion and nutrient loss, control, and conserve water. All good things for a healthier planet.

Organic and fair trade farming is the goal to help with the future of sustainable sources for Cocoa. Fairtrade sets social, economic, and environmental standards for both companies, farmers, and workers. This means that there is a fair price paid for the product and protection of the land.

Prep Time: 5 Minutes

Cook Time: 11 Minutes

Westpoint Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup of Organic Vegan Chocolate Chips
  • 1 cup White, Oat, or Spelt Flour
  • ½ tsp Baking Soda
  • ¼ tsp Unrefined Fine Sea Salt
  • ½ cup Organic Cane Sugar
  • ¼ cup Demerara Style Brown Sugar or Organic Coconut Sugar

Other Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp plant-based milk of choice
  • 2 tbsp oil or melted vegan butter
  • 1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract

Method

1) Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl, then stir in wet to form a dough – it will be dry at first, so keep stirring until a cookie-dough texture is achieved. If needed, add 1-2 tbsp extra milk of choice.
2) Form into one big ball, then either refrigerate for at least 2 hours or freeze until the dough is cold.
3) Once the dough is chilled, preheat the oven to 325 F.
4) Form dough balls, and place on a greased baking tray, leaving enough room between cookies for them to spread.
5) Bake 11 minutes on the center rack. They’ll look underdone when you take them out.
6) Let them cool on the baking tray 10 minutes before touching, during which time they will firm up.
7) You can also choose to make extra cookie dough balls and freeze them to bake at a later date.
